These are genuinely local Christmas trees. We plant, grow and shape them here at Hillview for years before they are freshly harvested and prepared for Christmas.

Choose Your Christmas Tree Size

Every Hillview Christmas tree is naturally grown, so no two trees are exactly alike. Heights are approximate and each tree will have its own natural shape, branch structure and character.

Small: approximately 1.5–1.8m
Medium: approximately 1.8–2.1m
Large: approximately 2.1–2.4m
Extra Large: approximately 2.4m+ when available

For a standard 2.4m ceiling, a Medium tree is generally a great choice, leaving room for your tree stand and topper.

Locally Grown Christmas Trees in Tamworth

One of the things that makes buying a Hillview Christmas tree in Tamworth particularly special is that your tree hasn’t travelled hundreds of kilometres to get here — this is where it was grown.

Our Christmas tree farm is located near Dungowan in the hills outside Tamworth. Our Radiata Pine trees spend years growing outdoors in the paddock, where we care for and shape them through Tamworth’s hot summers, winter frosts and changing seasons.

When Christmas arrives, we harvest the trees and prepare them for our local collection points.

The tree you take home from our Timbumburi collection was grown right here in the Tamworth region by our family.

Freshly Cut for Christmas

We aim to have our Christmas trees cut within 48 hours of collection, helping you take home a fresh, fragrant real Christmas tree for the festive season.

Each tree is wrapped in protective netting for easier and safer transport. Once you get home, remove the netting and give the branches a little time to relax back into their natural position.

With good care and plenty of water, we recommend enjoying your Hillview tree for around three weeks at its freshest.

Taking Your Tree Home

Please come prepared to transport your Christmas tree safely.

Do not place your tree directly onto a hot ute tray. Bring a towel, blanket or mat to place underneath it during transport.

When you arrive home:

• Remove the protective netting.
• If required, make a fresh cut of approximately 2cm from the base of the trunk.
• Place the tree immediately into water.
• Keep the water reservoir topped up every day.
• Keep the tree away from excessive heat, direct sunlight and strong air-conditioning.

Real Christmas trees are surprisingly easy to look after — keeping plenty of water available is the most important thing.

From Our Tamworth Farm to Your Family

Our family’s Christmas tree story began more than 20 years ago on the Coffs Coast. We continued that tradition when we established Hillview Christmas Trees near Tamworth, planting our first crop here in 2021.

Growing a Christmas tree takes years. Each season we continue planting, caring for and shaping new crops so there are trees coming through for future Christmases.

There is something pretty special about seeing a tree we’ve watched grow for years leave our paddock and become the centrepiece of another family’s Christmas.
